This calculator supports both conduction and convection heat transfer models. For conduction, it evaluates the rate of heat flow through a solid using the relation Q = k · A · ΔT / d. For convection, it computes heat transfer between a surface and a fluid using Q = h · A · (Tₛ − T𝒻).
Units are consistently handled and converted with math.js, so you can freely switch between common unit systems (e.g., m, cm, °C, K) without worrying about manual conversions. Adjustable inputs let you explore how material properties, geometry, and temperature differences affect heat flow.
You can also visualize the relationship between the temperature difference (ΔT) and the resulting heat flow (Q) with an interactive plot, helping you build intuition for system sensitivity and design trade‑offs.
- Compute conductive or convective heat transfer quickly
- Use built‑in unit conversions for inputs and results
- Plot Q versus ΔT to see trends across a range
- Tweak parameters to compare materials and configurations
